You’re not asking for the earth.

You’re Level 4 qualified and ready to be an adviser. You’re fed up of false promises, glass ceilings and waiting around.

The best way to learn is to do, but no one is giving you the chance.

They are now.

And if you're based within commuting distance of Newcastle, this is one of the better routes into advice you'll find.

THE JOB

This business buys clients from its retiring advisers. Those clients need an adviser. And that adviser could be you.

You’ll join an existing team of more than 60 advisers, helping ensure existing clients continue to receive an excellent level of service. You’ll build relationships with them and develop new business along the way.

You’ll also have access to some of the best technology on the market, alongside a dedicated customer care function. Your time will be spent with clients, not buried in admin.

Longer term you’ll develop your own client base. And when you’re ready, you’ll have the option of moving into a self-employed role with a firm that pays some of the best splits available. Two members of the team have already "graduated" through that route.

PACKAGE

The package works like this:
  • Starting salary of £30,000 - £32,000, depending on experience
  • A KPI/compliance bonus of £12,750 in year one, rising to £15,000 from year two
  • That bonus is based on areas such as client care, retention and file quality, rather than sales
  • Once you're established, there's also a sales bonus linked to new client monies invested. Bonus is likely to be £7,000 - £10,000 per annum.
  • This equates to a year one income of c£50,000 - £55,000.

SUPPORT

In terms of training, this is properly structured.

You’ll start with an initial four-week residential training course before joining the adviser team under the supervision of the Training & Competence department.

They’ll supervise everything you do until you achieve Competent Adviser Status.

There’s no being handed a laptop and told to crack on.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You’ll need to be Level 4 qualified via the CII, LIBF or CISI.

You could be a:
  • Paraplanner
  • IFA administrator
  • Mortgage or protection adviser
  • Financial services professional looking to move into advice
  • Second-career entrant who has already completed Level 4
Industry experience is useful, but it isn't essential. We've previously placed people into the programme who were Level 4 qualified without direct advice experience.

It’s more about your potential, communication skills and ability to build relationships than having followed one particular career path.

You’ll need to live within realistic commuting distance of the Newcastle office and be comfortable working there regularly as part of your training and development.
