Andy Taylor

Following graduation with a 2:1 degree in History & Politics Andy began working for the stockbroking arm of a Global bank as a Portfolio Manager, securing the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and Private Client Investment Advice and Management (PCIAM - part of the SII Diploma) examinations.

Andy began his recruitment career in 2004 with a global consultancy, focusing on consultancy assignments primarily within the IFA, Private Banking, investment management and employee benefits arenas. He later led the organisation's North West financial services team incorporating consultants working within the IFA, banking and technical support areas. Andy jointly established Exchange Street Financial Services in 2007 and continues to specialise in the recruitment of financial planners/IFAs, employee benefit consultants, business development managers and investment managers.

Robert Perry

Robert Perry

Robert has recruited since 1997, working from the main financial centres of London, Leeds & Manchester. During this time he has worked for some of the best known UK based and global recruitment consultancies (Hillman Saunders, Search and Darwin Rhodes) operating predominately within the financial planning, banking and employee benefits markets.

Since moving back to his native North West Robert has been a key player in the creation and development of two financial services teams in the region with both Darwin Rhodes, setting up their Manchester office, and later expanding Search's footprint in the same city. He has since used this extensive experience to create Exchange Street Financial Services.

Prior to moving into financial services recruitment Robert graduated with a degree in business studies and worked within the industry itself for a Life Company. Given his mum spent many years working for a Chartered Financial Planning practice as a paraplanner it is clear that Robert has a level of industry insight beyond the vast majority of his peers in the UK financial planning recruitment sector.

Leanne Fairhurst

Leanne Reid

In 2011 Leanne joined Exchange Street Financial Services from Broker Assistance Ltd where she spent 6 years as ICT Manager.

Previously to this she had worked for the company as a resourcing manager and spent 8 years with RAC in their Accident Services division where she was responsible for all recruitment and resource planning.

Leanne focuses on developing the Exchange Street brand across the UK in connection with positions within compliance, paraplanning and administration, for a range of financial planning, IFA and investment management firms.

Loss Adjusting

Martin Porthouse

Martin is a Director of Exchange Street, specifically accountable for Loss Adjusting / Claims but also responsible for the general development of the business, incorporating other divisions and group companies.

Martin commenced his recruitment career in 2005 working for a global firm, successfully setting up and developing their Loss Adjusting & Claims division from a standing start.

Prior to entering recruitment (1998-2004), Martin was a Director and Shareholder in a well-known 'Insurance Replacement' company, successfully servicing national Insurer and Loss Adjusting clients in respect of replacement goods for household claims. Before this, he worked as a General Property Adjuster (1990-1998) in the North West, handling both domestic and commercial property losses. He worked for McLarens Toplis, Garsides, Davies & Co and Miller Knight / Miller Fisher.

Steve Helman

Steven Helman

Steven commenced his career working for a major composite Insurer, before going on to join an international Loss Adjusting practice where he handled both domestic and liability losses for a number of prestigious clients.

He entered the recruitment industry in 2006, and joined Exchange Street in 2007.

Based in London, Steven recruits for roles in Loss Adjusting and claims across all product lines, utilising the knowledge he gained during his career in insurance. During this time he has built up an excellent network of clients and has developed strong relationships with all UK Loss Adjusting practices.

Craig Dyson

Craig commenced his career working for a major composite Insurer, before entering the recruitment industry in 2002. During this time he has worked for some of the best known UK based and global recruitment consultancies operating predominately within the insurance and financial services industry.

Based at their Manchester office, he recruits claims professionals across all product lines for leading Insurance Companies, Brokers, Accident Management and Loss Adjusting clients, with examples of vacancies including claims technician, claims handler and technical claims handler.

Keen to join a niche, specialist insurance and financial services executive search agency, Craig joined Exchange Street in September 2009.

David Porthouse

Dave is a qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS), Building Engineer (CABE) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance (ACII).

Originally a surveyor, Dave qualified as a Loss Adjuster (ACILA) in 1992. He was later a founder Partner in Garsides Chartered Loss Adjusters, where, following their acquisition by McLarens Chartered Loss Adjusters, he became an Associate Director and also Head of Subsidence for the North West Region prior to them becoming part of the Capita Group.

Dave left Capita McLarens in 2002 to form PMC UK Property Solutions Ltd, a firm of Chartered Engineers and Surveyors, specialising in the resolution of Subsidence/Buildings claims for Insurers.

Since 2011 Dave has specialised in the recruitment of Engineers, Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Loss Adjusters to positions both Home and Abroad.

General Insurance

Steve McNamee

Steve founded Exchange Street in 2002 having built up a wealth of experience in both the general insurance and recruitment professions.

He started his insurance career as a trainee with NEM Insurance in 1986 before moving into sales roles with Guardian Royal Exchange and Independent Insurance.

In 1997 he decided to put his technical insurance skills and in-depth knowledge of the key players in the insurance market to good use by moving into insurance recruitment. Steve is a past President of the Insurance Institute of Manchester and is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.

Nik Gardner

Nik Gardner

Having graduated with honours in 1995, Nik immediately began his career as a commercial underwriter with a leading global insurer and subsequently developed his career to Development Underwriter dealing with commercial combined cases. He worked within the North West Insurance market for 9 years and gained an excellent network of contacts and clients.

Nik has been recruiting in the General Insurance market since 2004 and has previously worked for two of the leading national Insurance recruitment companies in the UK. Within this period he also managed a team of consultants dealing with all Insurance vacancies in the North of England and successfully recruited for a range of clients across the general insurance sector in regional markets.
