Ready to grow?

LinkedIn recently put out a report about why people leave jobs.

The top 5 things people leave and therefore look for?

Well, one was money, obviously. One was greater flexibility about where you work and when. The other three were all variations on "To learn and grow".

Their conclusion? "People who aren't learning will leave".

And that sums things up for you. You don't mind your job or your company. But what comes next? Where can your career go? Or is it "same old, same old"?

At this firm people don't leave to go to other firms. Why? Well they take learning very seriously.

You'll start as an administrator but you'll have top notch support through your exams. This includes a funded training provider and study leave (3.5 days in total). You'll then have a pathway to develop within the business. As an example, this vacancy exists because the current incumbent is moving into a trainee paraplanner role.

As you grow you will get involved in cashflow modelling. You'll spend an increased amount of time with clients. You'll learn and learn and learn.
As for the other factors, well, they've got that covered too.

Starting salary is to £27,000 and it's reviewed every year. There's a bonus that they've paid out every year, including during Covid, and last December was worth 125% of your December pay packet. That's a hefty four figure sum along with a commitment to raise your salary as you develop.

There's 26 days holiday on top of your 3.5 days study leave but that goes up with service. You can also buy up to 10 extra days.

And there's life cover, critical illness cover and income protection which adds hundreds of pounds to the package.

You're also trusted with hybrid working. They close the office on Fridays so you get to work from home, with a 4pm finish. And you can also choose to work from home on either a Monday or Thursday.

They’re nice too, which is an often-overlooked feature. It’s a welcoming business with a proper work life balance (no pressure to stay late every night).

Plus it’s Chartered and deals with wealthy clients so you’ll develop your technical skills. You’ll be sat next to paraplanners and fee earners whose knowledge will rub off. And it's a flat structure - planners aren't on pedestals, it's a team effort.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

You'll be an administrator for a financial planning firm where you’ll process new business and prepare client meeting packs.

You'll have experience of using a systems like Truth and Intelliflo and be comfortable using platforms.

But conscientiousness is more important than length of experience so as long as you have some, we'd like to hear from you.
